Ron (standing, fourth from right) and Sue (standing, fifth from right) Clark of Clark Construction have no interest in being all things to all people. They only want to be the best at what they do. By developing tight-knit relationships with a select group of manufacturers and the clients their company serves, they’ve been able to deliver a consistent message for 30 years: quality.
To better serve past and future clients, the company employs a custom-designed database. They can track jobs by variables such as product, lead source, location, and gross margin, to name just a few. The database allows them to deliver the who, what, and where on a project in an instant and then generate a report for estimators going out on new sales calls.
But their Kohler-registered showroom is ground zero for all projects with new clients. “We encourage all who request an estimate to stop in first to see what we’re all about,” Ron says. The Clarks have found that the closing rate is exceptionally high for those who take the time to stop by the showroom.
It’s the beginning of a friendship that the Clarks hold in the highest regard. The company is unique in that they will not release client information for references. “Our customers and our suppliers become our close friends,” Sue says. “We’d never betray their trust to achieve a sale.”
