Custom cabinets are made of FSC-certified plywood painted with low-VOC paint. Glues are soy-based and formaldehyde-free.

Challenge: Work within existing footprint to improve a cramped kitchen’s functionality; minimize environmental impact; maximize energy efficiency. Key details: Re-orientation of kitchen to capture view, reuse of materials, FSC-certified wood for cabinets, soy-based glues. Judging notes: “A very nice job, cleanly done.” “Eclectic.”
